After a Red Dot Award...
Trendshooter awarded prestigious iF Design Award!
The collaboration between King George and Unilin Panels has proven to be a success, particularly evident in the stunning concept and design of the Trendshooter: a retired Flemish duck booth transformed into a full-fledged trade show booth and hybrid tool that combines product presentation and sales in an unprecedented manner. Previously awarded the Red Dot Award ‘Best of the Best,’ now also honored with the prestigious iF Design Award. Talk about a home run!
Shoot your shot!
During the pandemic, Unilin Panels was looking for an original, almost playful, way to organize smaller events for its European audience. They gave King George and their interior department carte blanche, resulting in a unique interactive trade show booth: the Trendshooter.
An outdated carnival booth from the 1980s underwent a real transformation. Where the prizes used to be displayed, six panels were installed. Each panel symbolizes a different trend cluster curated by King George. When a customer or prospect plays the game and throws a ball at one of the panels, the hit target lights up, and an appropriate tune plays. In a fun way, this provides visibility for Unilin Panels and its product range – designed with the necessary fun and attention to detail, of course.
Win, win, win…
In addition to winning a Red Dot Award ‘Best of the Best,’ the Trendshooter has been honored with an iF Design Award in the ‘Interior Architecture – Trade Fairs & Exhibitions’ category. The international jury, consisting of approximately 133 independent members and experts, selected the Trendshooter from thousands of entries and praised the booth for its creativity and outstanding design, versatility, and audacity.
The iF Design Award, based in Germany, has been a recognized quality mark for design in various disciplines since 1954. It covers everything from product and packaging design to architecture and interior design. It also considers aspects like user experience or interface design. Additionally, the organization focuses on social issues with the iF Social Impact Award and highlights design students with the iF Student Award. It is unquestionably one of the most prestigious design awards in the industry and worldwide.
