Unilin Panels — Chess Stand

Unilin Panels is not your average client. An international company with Belgian roots, it provides high-quality and versatile panel materials for various interior applications. After a series of successful collaborations, the company once again enlisted King George to creatively introduce their latest product, Master Oak, during ARCHITECT@WORK ’21.

To highlight the innovative nature of the panel material – Master Oak subtly replicates the look and feel of oak wood – the interior experts devised an impressive chessboard that would adorn the booth. To emphasize the details and texture of this unique material, the massive 3D design was entirely constructed using marquetry: a technique involving the inlay of various pieces of veneer.
